Last connections being made to the new turnouts north of Toddington P.Way train with Foremark Hall on temporary shunting duties ! The new turnout is huge. It has a max. theoretical speed of 43 mph on the curved road. More packing. Just need some ballast and the tamper to finish things off. Foremark Hall uses the run round.

Today we had a walk down the trackbed to the site of the run round loop at Laverton. Good views are to be had as the track is level with the fields at this point. Looking back from Laverton. View to the east of the site of the run round loop, with Broadway tower just about visible on the top of the hill. Laverton bridge deck - this won't be resused. Instead a new concrete bridge will be put in. The gap with the missing bridge. Information board telling the public the bridge is to be put back in 2008. It was removed by Transco to gain access to the gas station with large lorries, their successor National Grid will pay for the replacement. Only 7 and 1/2 miles to Honeybourne. Just over 1/4 mile to Laverton. The bridge deck is just about visible in the distance. A 12 coach run round loop will be built south of the bridge. Brand new rail from Corus, manufactured a few weeks ago. Track was soon laid under the B4632 road bridge. The bridge team were putting up new fencing on the right. Oops - Mr Lees won't want to take the train over this joint ! Time for some packing. This rail is so new it still has a bar code on it ! Temporary clamps help us get the works train over bad joints. These will be welded soon. First 'passengers' under the B4632 road bridge Around 10 panels laid, Stanton Fields road bridge in distance getting closer. Beyond this the two Dave's were clearing the undergrowth. The P.Way train was exceptionally long today, containing ballast wagons, flat wagons of sleepers, tools and mess coach. Looking north from the B4632 road bridge, the other end of the P.Way train... Bad light stops play. Only another 34 panels to the start of Laverton loop.

Looking north towards Laverton, the run round loop will be somewhere beyond the tall trees in the distance. We had help today from the 'Southern' scrub bashers gang Looking south, the end of the track is just beyond the road bridge in the distance. The piles of white ash indicate our other fires. Alan and Dave remove scrub from the cutting banks Plenty of vegetation to burn, the cutting looked like a green tunnel before we started clearing it. Cough ! Time for a sharp exit.
